What kind of health content do you produce?
We produce features, columns and news. Features range in length from 400 to 4000 words and cover a broad range of topics, including women’s interest, men’s health, real-life stories, nutrition and alternative health. Columns include Ask-the-Doctor pages, dietary Q&As and medical-condition summaries.
Who are your clients?
Our clients include Associated Newspapers, BUPA, Condé Nast Publications, Emap Elan, Express Newspapers, IPC Media, The National Magazine Company, Rare Publishing, River Publishing and The Telegraph Group.
How many writers do your represent?
We represent over 40 of the UK’s leading health journalists. They are firmly established writers who have worked for major national newspapers, magazines and medical journals.
What about medical experts?
We also represent over 30 medical experts from the public and private sector. They also write features, but they principally supply advice columns and medically-approved copy. We also have a larger network of consultants, GPs and medical practitioners that advise us on the latest research and supply us with unique case studies.
How does your service work?
You commission it – we write it. Some editors ask us to supplement the material they commission out Others ask us to produce complete health sections. Our editorial team supplies clients with precisely what they need, using our team of writers, experts and researchers. All material is sub-edited and fact-checked in-house.
My publication needs good health stories. Do I call you?
Yes. Just call us and tell us what your want. If it’s a single feature or case study, we’ll put the best writer on the job. If you need several pages of top-quality copy, we‘ll use a team of contributors and manage the whole process from start to finish.
Is your content accurate?
Health content must always be accurate and all our material is guaranteed for quality and reliability. We use the very best health journalists and editors in the business to ensure this.
Do you supply photos?
Yes. Library or bespoke images can be provided on request. Our photographers work for most of the leading newspapers and magazines in the UK, and we can provide editors with substantial reductions on library images.
I already use freelancers. So why do I need an agency?
Our agency is a consortium of award-winning health writers, experts and editors. Even if you use regular freelancers on your publication, we think you’ll find our service very useful for supplementing what you need.
I’m a publisher planning a new title with health content. Can you help?
Yes. We are often asked to supply health content for new titles. Publishers can see the advantages, both quality-wise and financially, in using a specialist agency to supply their health copy from the start. Think of us as an outsourced health-features department.
Are you expensive?
We believe we are competitively priced for the quality of the service we provide. Almost all our clients give us regular business, which we feel reflects our value to them.
